Nine Mile Canyon Coalition’s Stewardship Day
Saturday September 27, 2025
Come learn about the canyon and its history from archaeologists, descendant communities, and cultural site stewards.
Be prepared for a free fun day outside in Nine Mile Canyon. Walk away with a deepened sense of who the past peoples were that passed through the canyon. Understand the cultural landscape, and why it must be preserved and protected.
Play and learn about archaeology through hands-on activities for all ages.
Stewardship Day Flags will guide you to your starting destination, the Nine Mile Ranch. From the Ranch, grab your map from the Welcome Table and drive to archaeological sites throughout the canyon, each marked with a Stewardship Day flag. Professional archaeologists and other volunteers will be there to greet you and tell you more about that site. Feel free to ask questions, take pictures, but leave only footprints. We appreciate your support and your respectful visits to these amazing places.
